Frequently asked questions

Aren’t you just making money from people’s trauma?

I understand why people ask this. After 30 years as a paramedic, I know how raw the job can leave you.
I don’t see hypnosis as profiting from trauma—I see it as providing tools I wish we’d had on shift. It’s a professional service, like any other form of training or support, designed to keep responders sharp, resilient, and able to recover.

Shouldn’t this kind of support be free through the NHS or employers?

Yes—it should. But many responders can’t access consistent, practical mental health support through existing systems. I’m not here to replace that—I’m here to fill the gap. That’s why I offer free resources such as the 5-Minute Reset for Responders, alongside deeper one-to-one or group work for those who want more.

I'd be happy to speak to your employer about engaging my services my services?

How do I know this isn’t just another wellness gimmick?

Good question. A lot of “wellness” products don’t fit the reality of frontline work.
I trained with anaesthetists, emergency doctors, and dentists—professionals who use hypnosis in clinical practice every day for pain relief, anxiety, and recovery. My approach is grounded, practical, and evidence-informed. No crystals, no chanting, no fluff.

If you’ve lived the job, why charge fellow responders at all?

Because my time, training, and expertise have value—just like yours does when you show up for work. That said, I make hypnosis accessible: I provide free and low-cost resources, discounted sessions for frontline workers, and advanced work for those who want to go further. My goal isn’t to lock support away, it’s to make sure responders have tools that actually work.

Is hypnosis just mind control or stage tricks?

No. That’s TV fiction. Clinical hypnosis is about helping you take control of your own mind and body—whether that’s switching off stress, improving focus, or managing pain. You stay in control at all times.
